Good Morning
I just bought my first boat,a Four Winns 170.3.0,Volvo Penta.I would like to improve the performance of this boat with simple bolt-ons.I,ve read what you can expect from a hydrofoil and I was wondering if there are any drawbacks to installing one. Also am looking for more top end at less rpm, will a SS Prop help here?My existing prop is 14.25 x 21,3 blade.Great site ,lots of great imformation, thanks in advance fellow boaters!
The Greek

You could change your prop... But you have to keep enough power to accelerate with much people on board or for skiing... Maybe you could better say which rpm you have at top speed.... Than you can see how much rpm's your motor makes original or max. What are you looking for? Speed or accelerate?

Ideally I would like both.Right now 4000 RPMs gets me about 22 mph.I haven't yet taken it over 4000
