Anyone heard of these? These are awesome machines from Norway. Especially the S-24 and S-24R models. There is a pretty good video of some in action if you navigate to that model on the site.

Well worth a drool!

http://www.hydrolift.com/

Re: Hydrolift Boats

They're made right here in my hometown, Fredrikstad, and I see them all the time. Absolutely great boats for going fast in, and very seaworthy. Here's my personal favorite (wish I had one):

They're quite pricey, even for here, but you can pick up a used 24 or a 28-29 foot for about USD 70.000,- (see all the used boat ads on this link: www.finn.no )

They had a fire in their factory a few weeks ago, but they're adamant that they'll rebuild in time for next year's deliveries. See this link: Local newspaper article

The owner, Mr. Baard Eker (that's him in the picture) is a local maverick that has successfully built several companies and is now also into offshore racing as a hobby (see below). He still hasn't made any money from building boats, though, although there ought to be a world market for such world class speed boats.

EDIT: The pictures were linked from the local newspaper (www.f-b.no) and they seem to move their files around every so often. So, if the pictures don't show up, they've moved them again.

Stevens

Cheers for the info. I had a look at the for sale link. The s24 featured is real nice. Hydrolift are definitey something special and are refreshingly different designs. The attention to detail is superb.

The S24 is definitely one of my all time favourites.
