I am looking at purchasing the hydrowake T-Rex Wakeboard tower for my 2000 Mastercraft Prostar 205. I was wondeing if anyone has this tower or knows anything about it?? Good or Bad. Does it rattle? Durable? Good Mounting Points?

I currently have the zeroflex tower on boat.(Old Style)

It looks to me to be built by the same parent company that does the Aerial Towers. Google LTP Wakeboard. It think the key for that tower will be where you mount the feet. The fact that you can rotate the tower racks is pretty cool. I would assume its got a similar quality to the Aerial one I just installed. I am happy with the parts, connectivity, quality, etc. I am yet to water test mine. This Saturday will be its madden voyage.

V195tower.jpgCan't tell you about the T-Rex, But I have a Hydrowake Spider. It is a chinese made tower that is sold by a whole host of internet shops like Avenger, Hydrowake, etc. The quality is ok. The Guy at Hydrowake took a couple calls during install that were helpful, but that said, they included no instructions and when called, stated they had none. All-in-all, I'm reasonably happy. Be aware, all fasteners on mine are metric.

I highly recommend looking at towers manufactured in the USA.... There are a handful of tower companies which manufacture out of the same factory in China... like all things made in China ( no offense ) the price is right but the quality is well... something else. You get what you pay for, so if you are making an investment in your boat, and safety, seriously do the research....

I did not know it was made in china. That tower is out of the question for me now. What is a good stylish tower i could get for my boat. 2000 Mastercraft Prostar. I like the looks of the towers on the 2009-2011 Mastercrafts. Anyone know if i can get a tower of that style on my boat? And how much do they cost?

Not sure about styles, but check out Joystick towers. They are very nice, reasonably priced, and I think made in the USA. I would guess that 75%+ of towers sold online are chinese made.

Ok ... I have been reading in this section for about 4 years now. Every so often someone joins and makes like 3 to 4 exact same posts in different tower threads just like Cademan77's. They talk about how crappy Aerial, Monster, and other made in China towers are -- same exact post in two different threads right now. Then they disappear.

I just responded to the exact same Cademan77 post in a different thread, now I see it here. Whatever!

Conk, you have a 2000 Mastercraft 205. Its got a great hull for wakeboarding, same hull as the first x-star. You have a boat that, if you take care of it, will hit a point where it does not lose value any more. A custom made tower from the likes of Samson or somewhere else, which will be welded and not have a lot of bolts (not universal), would add to your investment.

However, for some of us budget boaters, a lower cost alternative, even if made in China, is a better option.

So, in response to the anti-China tower advise, I say let the first person who has nothing made in China cast the first stone! If you are reading this you are viewing and typing on something with a mix of global parts, including China.

:eek::facepalm::facepalm::mad::mad: OK you have done it now im fixing to throw my laptop out the 4th floor window cause it made in china and then I am gonna throw my car keys and my tennis shoes right out behind them because they are all made in china as well. I guess i will walk 400 miles home barefoot because even my socks are made in china but in a few months when I get there I am gonna get on my boat and Wakeboard my 275lb *** behind a tower that was made in CHINA and does a dang good job.

I agree with you sickwilly My aerial tower does a good job and Fits MY BUDGET even if its from china.

Sorry if you dont like china dude but thats what this world has came to.

I bet you buy your gas from people from India before you go ride behind your US built tower.

I love America

GOD BLESS THE USA

I try to buy as much america made products as i can to keep jobs in america. Chinese made products(towers) probably do have the same quality as american made. BUT you are not keeping americans employed by buying things from overseas!! I would much rather spend a little extra money for stuff MADE IN THE U.S.A.

I am in 100% agreement. Its a cost / benefit / value equation. My cast iron table and chairs out back I paid more than a little more versus getting the home depot crap and have a great, made in Alabama set. Not every purchase works out that way, though. Sometimes there is not a "little more" money option. I can't still by a Curtis Mathes TV can I?

I had not seen Joystick towers when I bought my tower, but from their website it is still not clear where they are made as they say our "dual factories". No where do they explicitly say "made in the USA". In hind sight I might check them out. Kind of like how it is hard to tell where the Monster Universals are built? TN or China?
