I have two 115hp engines one 1979 Evinrude and one 1976 Johnson.

Both have hydrolic trim tilt that has failed on the passengers side (seriously froze).

I removed both hydrolic trim tilt units and the 1976 outboard is still stuck in the up position and wont move I believe the 2 engine assist shock absorber type cylenders tucked in at the base of where the motor fastens to the transom are frozen.

1st can these be replaced and where can I get them. Or can I just remove them.

2nd is there any hope for rebuilding my trim tilt hydrolic cylenders or am I better off buying a CMC aftermarket trim tilt unit for $400.

Best regards

Re: Hyrdolic Cylenders Evinrude 115

Welcome to Iboat's, Had one of mine do the same thing around a month or so ago, I found a guy that said he could rebuild it for $250.00 but I found me one on a old boat that didn't run anymore for $50.00. Good luck
