i am running out of options need help Don S

would this cause the engine to behave eratic ad cause the stbd engine to pop CIRCUIT BREAKEr

replaced rotor/ cap ignition sensor
replaced alternator.
cleaned all leads to batt/starter \engine harness
sysmptoms
stbd safety switch gets hot on the console then brkr pops
started fine last night started and shut down at dockside no less than 10 times put in neutral and rev the engines all was good.
load tested both batteries yesterdayall good/ volts 13.6 on alt
come to take for test run same exact symptoms only this time it seems more agressive.
would the drives have any thing to do with this i dont think so because in neutral.
oil is good
engine is not running hot.
i am running out of options
1997 sunsport 33 ft twin 454s
thuderbolt igniton gas carb
bravo 3 drives.

Ayuh,.. You have a Dead Short in the circuit,...
Disconnect whatever's part of it, til you find the offending component...

I'm with bondo, you have a short. Where? Who knows.
Did you do ANYTHING, no matter how small to the boat between the time everything worked to when it started this.
Install something, fix something, drill a hole, install a screw in anthing?

Replaced Alternator
Cleaned Up Starter Solenoind On Starter
Cleaned Up Cables To Batt
Disconnected Wiring Harness Found Corrosion Cleaned With Electrical Component Cleaner
Checked Safety Switch Cleaned Reassembled
Checked The Back Of Fuse Bus Panel Cleaned And Inspected For Both The Stbd/port Engine.
Put In Ignition Sensor Grounded To Block Where I Made Sure It Was Nice And Cleaned.
Batt Terminals All Cleaned

Check that you didn't leave any wiring in contact with the Exhaust or manifold if you don't have them off of the engine they have a tendancy to melt at the point of contact and will short every time when you cleaned the ground did you bend or crack the wire inside if sheathed this will cause erratic problems but i stand by the melted wire theory.....

Put In Ignition Sensor Grounded To Block Where I Made Sure It Was Nice And Cleaned.

Are you talking about the ignition sensor inside the distributor, or the ignition module outside on the distributor or manifold.

when you replaced your batteries did you by chance mix up a neg and positive cable?

There are 2 wires that come off that sensor, a white with green stripe, and a white with red stripe. Neither of which go to ground.
Do you have a SN for your engine? I am assuming you have a 97 engine and I know that is the wrong thing to do. Where is your ignition module mounted, and or the knock module?

Together I Believe But Not Hooked Up Directly To Distb
One Is Black And Other Is Gray Component Correct
Yes This Is 97 454s.
Gas Carbs.
Thunder Bolt Ignition.
