I am trying to figure lower unit compatability for my 275.

If I buy a lower unit from aq131/275 to replace my aq225/275 and use my complete output shaft assembly and lower gear, would this end being the same as my current 275?

Not exactly sure what you are asking here. Do you want to use the lower unit housing from the 131 and put your gears and bearings in it?

If that is what you want to do, Yes it's possible, but you MUST reshim everything in the lower, including the bearing race in the intermediate housing.

I was only going to re-use the lower gear on the vertical shaft and my entire prop shaft assembly.
