I asked my general prop question now for a more specific question.

I have an old stainless prop in my garage from one of my past boats. I have looked all over the body and hub for pitch & diameter and can't find them. There are a number of various numbers stamped in various places on the prop. I wondered if any of these numbers might help identify the make and model of the prop.
8053
7023
either 8C13 or 8C15 can't fully make out the last digit
E
15

Those are all stamped in different places on the prop.

I have one like that too. Nice looking stainless prop that came on an early Honda 90 - which uses a Merc. lower unit.

There's not a number on it anywhere, except a 17P. So it's a fair assumption it's a 17" pitch prop, but who made it?

If in doubt take it to a prop shop and have it measured, will know its diam and pitch except prop manufacturer for sure which is not that important to know compared to diam/pitch.

The 8053 and the 7023 are probably WO#s from a prop rebuilder(s), actually all those could be rebuilder #s

What brand of motor were these props used on?
