i boats still slow

why is it so slow to load on my computer? its keeping me from coming on. it use to be fast i cant stand just sitting here waiting for it god i wish i was on my boat fishing.

It's up and down, Rusty.<br /><br />Sometimes, especially lately, it seems like the old days. Click the mouse and POW, it's there.<br /><br />Other times it is so slow I want to go somewhere else, but don't.<br /><br />It must have to do with the amount of activity at the time.<br /><br />I think at least part of the problem is too many posts that mean nothing, they are just playing with the forum and padding their post count.<br /><br />I know that Admin5 and the gang at headquarters are working hard to get it under control and I believe that they will. <br /><br />This site is an expensive proposition and as it grows it needs more and faster servers. We will get them. <br /><br />Hang in there.

why would they want to pad their post? see why has more? with all the things to do and house and car maintence the little time on i boats should be for help or fun . not senseless bullcrap.

Considering shear volume I believe it is keeping up. Every day the database gets bigger and more members join. Members such as myself and older ones still feel we are doing good.... years ago many of us did not have DSL and we aere on dial up connections...... now that was slow!

i say stop letting these new maggots join .. <br />an delete/fire/terminate anyone with more than 4000 post..<br /><br />cause if'n they ain't said it by now,, they ain't an they're stale & tired..<br /><br />free up some web space for the medlin' bucks..

Personaly I think things have slowed down a bit with the added boat fora. If you notice when the page loads its much larger since then. Not saying they shouldnt be there.......they serve a purpose.<br /><br />I dont think a few padded posts in dockside is going to slow anything down. The rest of the Forum is "help" related and prolly takes up the majority of posts.....

I have not noticed it that much.<br />I stay online here 24/7.<br />It has gone offline a couple times, but as far as the page's loading, etc. seems ok to me.<br />I am on cable.<br />Oh yea,<br />I passed a Holiday Inn Express today
