I joined this forum last week for tips and advise on a transom for a boat I'm restoring, and I can't believe the boats I have seen restored. Most of I would have taken to the dump you guys have turned back into water going machines. I must say I am impressed to see it. With that being said I'm glad I joined and Keep up the good work.

Re: I can't believe it

My boat Another Bill is a 1983 2700 Continental twin 350s 390hp ea Alpha 1 drives
I rebuilt both motors and have done tons of other work to the boat . I was stupid not to take pics of those projects. Now the hurricane i bought when I was 16 in 1997 for 1,250 fished it for 6 years untill my son who was 2 at the time broke it.. The whaler i just picked up this summer as a project to have a river boat for flats fishing..

Joe you've got great taste in boats, those are some nice rigs:D

Love the Whaler and the Tiara w/ the 3 portholes. That's when you know you've made the bigtime:cool:

If you really want to be impressed check out oops "hull extension thread" and prepare to be amazed.

This site has some real talent in the motor forums and the restorations. I've got plenty to learn so I love the site myself.:)

Re: I can't believe it

The hurricane came with a single 327 . I hade to replace the heads so I replaced them with 202 heads from a 305 .. It used to run about 40 with the old OMC electra shift . I'm hoping its a little faster with the merc. As far as the Tiara I'm gonna repaint it and remove two of the ports. The 3rd one back on both sides. The reason for this is they are useless the port one is in the middle of my cabinet and the starboard is on the counter in the head.. I also am going to put a tuna tower on it that folds down . Ahh I cant wait for that one. I rebuilt both motors in the Tiara 350s flat top pistions performace marine cams and 4'' Glm risers. Their pushing about 290hp. that boat WOT runs 42 mph, and crusies 25-30 mph. Ill have to take some pics of the motors I custom painted them black and teal with alum. covers. I saw his hull extension thats cool .
