A couple of years ago, I picked up a free gas dryer, I scavenged the motor for my electric dryer. Saved me $140. I was happy.
I thinks to meself - Hmmm, lots of other parts are identical. So I pretty much stripped the dryer down to a shell. I even kept the gas heating element. I thought it would make a great fire toy
Fast forward to the present. The house we bought has a gas dryer hook up. I get another free gas dryer that works, but the wife doesn't really like it.
I started looking at all the schematics and did a little bit of re-wiring, installed the gas burner and voila!! Tested it yesterday. Worked like a champ.
Wife now has her large dryer back.
Feels good to be able to do that.
