O M G!!! Talk about a pain in the butt!!! My propeller would NOT come off the shaft for all the tea in China! I took it to the gf's mom and step-dad's house, considering he's a mechanic with TONS of tools, to get his help. We tried everything imaginable to get the prop off, finally decided on a flywheel puller and a length of chain. After about 30 minutes of cranking down on the puller with an air gun, *pop* it came off!! Only bad thing was, the impeller stay on the shaft! So, we peeled/pried/pulled the rubber off the bushing shaft, which of course was stuck to the propeller shaft. The center bushing aluminum part was frozen on the shaft so bad with corrosion, we tried heating it (to no avail) and finally split it with a hammer and chisel! SUCCESS!! Prop is ready to go get rebushinged. Checked the shaft and cleaned it up. No damage from the work we did. By Friday, my prop should be rebushinged and a seal changed in the shaft, a new impeller installed and ready to put in the water. I THINK the prop spinning on the bushing was the cause of my no power issues. It was very obvious it was spinning. A good tune and clean up, and she will be catching fish in no time!
