Once a week I go check on my boat that I keep docked during the season. It is a 27' cabin cruiser or some call a motor yacht (YUK). It has a sliding glass door to the rear deck, and glass windows all the way around. I tinted all the windows except for the windshield for the inside helm. That still let too much light in so I installed a sun screen that you can see out, but you can't see in. So people outside my boat never knows if anyone is inside or not.

Well last weekend, someone rented the transient slip next to me. My wife and I watched them come and go, but they never knew we was in the boat.

This evening, thought I would take my new work van for a ride to check on the boat. Took my dog Keeper along for a ride also. Keeper and I get in the boat, turn on the air condition and popped in a movie.

About 45 minuets into the movie I noticed a man in the boat with his wife standing on the dock. I hadn't started the boat up since the weekend, thought I would. So I flipped on the blower for the next 4 minuets. The guys wife turns and looks towards the rear of the boat. I hear her husband say that the blower must be on a timer. Then Keeper moves to the port side of the boat raising the Stbd side exposing my aircondition water outlets above the surface. So now this lady hears water running. (This water will run for loooong periods of time) She askes him about the water pouring out of the side of my boat. Oh that must be his bilge pump. Then I hear her go, Its been running since we got down here. I wonder if his boat is sinking. Then Keeper moves again putting the water outlets below the surface. She starts squirming to her husband that something is wrong with that boat!

She then walks to the back of their boat which is close to mine. Then I start the engine!
I rev it up several times and I look out the window and she is running to the shore! She now is screaming for her husband to get out of there. Now I have to turn my steering back and forth to make sure its not siezing up from being in the water for a long period. Just gotta keep that gimbal moving. So now I'm turning the steering wheel which the one on the bridge turns also when the cabin helm is turned. Oh boy, this has really gotten her attention. Now her husband is getting curious what is going on. Remember they have never seen me outside my boat. To take things a little further, Keeper moves again and I lift my outdrive while its running. The exhaust gets close to the surface and starts its bellowing. Meanwhile she is still screaming at him, but now saying my boat is possessed!

Once I regained my laughter, I figured it was time for me to show myself. I opened my cabin door and then opened the engine cover to the bilge. I needed to look inside to make sure everthing was okay anyway. He sees me and starts laughing, I say excuse me (playing it off like I didn't know what was going on) He said "thats a relief, my wife thought your boat was possessed! I busted out laughing, boy oh boy women don't see things like men do. Boy did she get mad!
