For what its worth to any of you professional outboard mechanics reading this..... I have been wrenching on cars since I was 13. I am now 42 and still loving turning wrenches, and have never really given up when it comes to solving motor problems. However, synching carbs on outboards, and adjusting timing at WOT seems about as big a nightmare as setting up a tri power setup on an older muscle car for those of us who have attempted that properly. Hats off to all of you out there that make this topic a living. If you read my other posts, although I have come a long way with this restoration project, I think leaving the final adjustments that mean everything to the pros.

+1. I can do just about anything with a car motor but I am scared to death to have to work on my outboard (top end wise) I hope I never have to but it will come and I will be asking alot of questions here on iboats.

Ahhhhhh, working on outboards are childs play. I just got done rebuilding a 460 for my F-250 Now THAT's a project. :D I'm anxious to get back into smaller engines again......like outboards.

If I were closer I would trade with one. My thing I suppose is that I've never had to work on the outboards yet so I haven't had to learn--not looking forward to it but I guess I'll jump in when I need to:eek:
