i got a johnson problem

ive got a johnson 4 cylinder 2 stroke outboard motor model# vxl-12rthe serial #j2631445 <br />the problem is 3 things <br />1, i dont know what year itis can anybody help or know were i can find out <br />2, im also not sure how many horse power itis<br />3, now for the serious problem witch i need to find out 1 and 2 so i know what to buy<br />when i run the motor at a idle in neutral it runs fine when i rev it up it runs great but when i put it in to forward of reverse it runs great to abought half throttle the it starts to crapout at full throttle it runs like crud like its towing a anchor or something can anybody help im just dying to run her please help please

1 & 2 My book only goes to 1964. a VX-10 is a 1964 60Hp. That should make yours a 1966.<br />3 Your carb either needs a good cleaning, or the high speed jets need adjusting (if they're adjustable).<br />4 You posted in the Mercury section. I'm sure somebody'll be along to move you over to the Johnnyrude section.
