i have a 2000 15hp johnson weighing around 80lbs, and i am putting it on my 12 foot jon boat, well my problem is one of the clamps that are used to fasten the motor to the transom are frozen and won't move (i tried penetrating oil and also heating it up) well, will it be safe if i fasten the one side down and also bolt it down to the transom with the holes on the mounting bracket. is this safe to do, and also any ideas on getting the stuck clamp out? can i drill it out?

What are you spraying it with? PBBlaster is what I use to free stuff up and it works wonders. Time is what you need, let it soak overnight and try it again.

If you are bolting it down it won't go anywhere, I guess it will be a permanent install???

Heat from a propane torch usually loosens those frozen clampscrews. However, the remaining solution is to hacksaw off some of the threaded portion, then drill it out, finally running a proper size tap thru the threaded portion to renew the threads.

If you're capable of this fine, if not, remove the clampscrew from that side and have a machine shop do the job.
