Well, they say that a sucker is born every minuett, well, I got took!, the day before Christmas

I've been looking for a late 1970's early 80's Caddy Coupe Deville as a project/ fun car for almost a year now. I bought one on ebay a while back, paid top dollor for it, it really was in mint condition and the jerkoff totaled it the night before I was gonna pick it up.

Now here I am almost a year later, my buddy found a '83 Coupe deville on cragslist up in Nasha, NH for $500 what the hell, I figured I was worth a trip. I was looking for a project, and willing to to some work, including a total repaint. Well, the car looked pretty good, very little rust, high miles (149,000) and its been sitting for a while. The guy selling it lives in the Red roof inn, he told me he didn't know a thing about cars, and it was to big for him and he didn't want it anymore, he looked like the type that should know a little more about cars then he let off to know, but whatever. I found that the seal on the tranny pan was leaking, no biggie. and one of the belts was off, the one that ran the fan and altinator, or the car couldn't be driven or it would overheat. I ran it and drove it around the parking lot, everything seemed ok.

I brought it into my buddys shop today and put it up on a lift, I replace the belt, flush the radiator and start her up. Oh @#$*!! pooring coolent from the bottom of the engine, I pull off the trannysheald thing and get a look at the bottom back of the block, and find a hole in it. Its an alum block, so their is really nothing I can do in terms of plugging it, the engine is junk.

So, now I got a car that isn't worth fixing. I called the guy I bought it from and asked for my money back, I got about what I expected with him telling me to screw, and saying that he sold it "as is as shown", he knew the block was cracked, I could tell he knew when I asked on the phone. I know where he lives, red roof inn, he's a bum. I told him he might wanna be sure he puts his deadbolt on, and that I'd be back..... but that was just to scare him , I know that I'm not getting anything out of him.

So, I got took! and I thought I was smarter then that . . ..

I'm gonna try to sell it as a parts car and get at least some of my money back. Some people just suck
The block was cracked in a way that you couldn't see it, and the car still ran, but you couldn't run it long because it had no coolent, so their was NO way for me to tell that the block was cracked at the time of the sale. I'm pretty pissed about it, but at the same time,, what did I expect for $300?
