Troubleshooting a non start issue on a buddies new to him johnson, we had disconnected and replaced fuel lines. Also needed to squirt a little premix in the holes. After determining it wasn't a fuel issue, we of couse checked for spark next. WELL.. Plenty of spark, and some leftover fuel in the bottom of the cover, and i am now 1 eyebrow less than i had yesterday..To top it off, the water in the barrel we started it in had a skim coat of fuel/oil on top and was not helping to extinguish!! Oh well.. We got it out, and i learned that lesson for sure..Thing is, i should know better..

So did you get it running? It would really hurt to do all of that and still have to take it to the shop.

Yeah.. she's running fine. We wondered if the fire damaged anything, but other than some thin wire wrap melted, seems all is ok.. I still prefer my old 1971 18 horse rude to that 2000 25 johnson though.. Just easier all around to work on.
jtexas said "Happy to hear no damage to persons or property."
Must have missed my eyebrow comment ;)
