I Hate Winter!!!!!!!!

It "warmed up" 28 degrees here from yesterday, it is 7 degrees now!

I still have till probably the end of March till I can get the boat back out and I am getting tired of walking past my motorcycle too.

I am not buying this global warming theory, the last 4 years winters are getting progressivly colder with more snow.

The actual temp yesterday was -21, wind chill -43, in Indiana.

Gonna go fire up the heater in the garage and get my ice hut around, not even camparable to getting the boat out but at least there is fishing involved and I get to try out a new project, I made a receiver carrier for the hut which I also made.

It is 4x8x6' tall and weights a ton, way too much to get into the back of a 4x4 truck by myself, the hitch carrier lowers the lift by 2-3 feet and should be alot easier.

There I am done although I don't really feel any better.

Actual Temperatures -7 and -8 here the last two mornings with wind chills -17 and -20 collectively. But oh well that's Northern Michigan. The high yesterday was 5 Dg.

Tell me about it! I put a deposit on a new-to-me boat a month ago, and can't do a thing about finalizing the deal (survey and sea trial) until it gets warm- prob'ly another 8-10 weeks!

Can't start preparing for the new boat, can't sell the old one... all I can do is sit and shiver and wait. grrrr....

We are in the same temperature down here in Detroit. We were actually -7 2 days in a row without the windchill...

And this has been are biggest snow season in a few years.

Things are bad all over. Was 48 at 7 this morning with wind gust to 20. Had to wear a flannel shirt to the tavern last night. Still managed to just wear sandles. Be lucky if it get to 70 today. FRED

boating mignt just get old if you could do it all year long,
It gives me a chance to just sit back and get all my eggs back in the basket,

All you Floridians make me jealous this time of the year. We haven't saw 47 dg since the middle of October. We had our first significant snow fall on the 26th of October. We got 6 inches of snow and it's still on the ground. We are over 100 inches here right now for the winter. The city has trucked snow out of town twice now to make room for more.

But Spring is only three months away. I hope the snow is all melted my May

It was a balmy 7 degrees here this morning...Stayed indoors yesterday and made a big pot of stew..
Boating weather looks to be a long way off even here in the south..

I'm counting the days. 83 days as of today to launch and that is less than 3 months.

I stayed up last night keeping the wood burner cranking and my furnace would still cycle on about every 10 minuets. Normally my furnace will not come on when the wood burner is fired up. My outside thermometer read -15*F. I got up at 7 a.m. and was surprised to see the temp was "0*F". We've got 11" on the ground with another 2 to 4 expected tonight. As in the rest of the northern states, this is a normal winter with periods of extreme occurrences.

Back in 79 I moved from Maine to Milton Florida. Wouldn't you know that my first night in Florida it snowed 3"! Unlike Maine, the snow was gone by 10 a.m. without any signs of what just happened. I was accused of taking the snow with me when I was re-stationed.

Hey it warmed up 40 degrees today from -20 to +20 by noon. I LOVE WINTER!!!! There is some great fishing opportunities during the beloved winter months. It can ware on you though.

Hey, look, it's all a matter of perspective. Like TD, we are not used to seeing these temps this time of the year. We have been spoiled the last two winters and not really had more than a day or two of really bad, snotty weather. This whole week has been miserable and I don't own any winter clothes!! :redface:

Made a trip to Wally World just to buy something warm and cheap cause I won't need it again for a few more years.....Or so I think!

Anyway, you guys aren't the only ones sufferin! When these cold fronts blow thru it stirs the Gulf up and we get big seas and cloudy water...not the recipe for a nice day on the water...

There.....you should feel better..

I forget how much it sucks every year!! 3+ days it never got above 0. 22 below two mornings in a row.

whoa, it got up to 27 today! it has been below zero for days. gotta be careful the global warming or should i say the global climate change police will be out to tell us how ignorant we are, and this is just another sign.

Got the hut out last night, the new carrier worked pretty good but I need to tweek the hut, it is 28'' collapsed which is the same measurement as the top of my tailgate so I had to pull the main hinge bolt to get it below the tail lights, already figured out a fix that I will get to on my impending 2 weeks off.

It was 23 with 30 mph wind gusts so pretty miserable but I got out.
