i have a little old mercury i dont know the year

I have a little Mercury but i dont know the year model or horse power its pretty old i think its pretty much all aluminum cast it looks like <br />the serial numbers are worn and i can only find them on the gas tank i think they are D00912R it dosent say the hp or anything else but Mercury i would guess its between 4hp and 7hp but i realy dont know i could e-mail a picture if it would help i would just like to know if i should run it on the water or if its an antiqe or worth somthing somethingany advce would realy help thank you

Hi, bassinbill9 <br /><br />Those numbers do not click. Look on the transom bracket and see if you can come up with a 7 digit number... hi, rick<br />thanks for helping me. i checked the transon bracket for that seven digit number but i could only find the digits c-592 under that it says alcoa and also on the clamp there is a four digit number two it is c-658 uder it says lynite

thanks for that web site rick im still not sure but i think its a 40tys k model 3-5 it runs like a champ do you think its worth any thing or do you know how i could find out

<br /><br />Looks like this one to me:<br /><br /> web page Air cooled...<br /><br />It says the Model and serial number are stamped into the starting rope sheave on top of the flywheel. So you might check that out, as I can't see any numbers in the picture. I'm sure it's worth something to a collector, but not sure how much. Depends on how bad they want it and condition. You may just want to hang on to it, since it runs well. Post any other Number/letters that you find, if any.. Neat little motor!!
