I went fishing today in my 2002 19 foot Center Console with a 115 Yamaha 4-stroke motor. Everything was running great when my yamaha started loosing power. I went to the fuel bulb and squeeze it 4-times and the engine went back to running great. every so often this would happen and I would squeeze the fuel bulb to continue on. My motor always ran smooth before this. Can someone tell me what is wrong with my 2002 Yahama 115 4-stroke so I can go back out fishing? Thanks Copgib

Yep +1 on the vent. Sounds like a venting issue or an issue sucking air, i.e. Fuel line leak. Check the in line fuel filter.

Or fuel pump is going bad or air is being sucked into the line somewhere, filter is plugging, water in fuel, or some other restriction

I did not open the vent on the tank. I started the motor and added power, all was ok for about a minute and then the power started to drop. Motor didn't die, just bogged down. No horsepower until I squeezed the fuel bulb 3-4 times. Then the horsepower built back up. Thanks for all the input. Hugh
