On my 95 4.3 liter lx engine the thermostat gasket has 2 copper pieces made into the gasket. Is this for continuity between the upper housing and the engine block since the temperature sensors are mounted on the upper housing? Can I use a standard automobile thermostat gasket? Also can I just run the boat and let it pump the antifreeze out or do I need to drain it out before I crank it?

The brass eyelets are for bonding purposes for the sender to read properly, no sender then use reg gaskets
