I have gas making its way from carb to inside engine cowling

The motor: 1969 Chrysler 55 h.p. model 5591.

Replaced all the seals on the lower unit, no more milky lube. I also fixed the twisted carburator bowl gasket, and the fuel no longer weeps from the top of the bowl. I thought this would cure my gas out of the weephole problem.

I still get gas running from the lower unit weephole when I pull her out of the water and let the motor down. I know its coming from the carburator. I see a gas drop clinging to the bottom of the open mouth just forward from the choke butterfly. Every time I run it, I see a gas "puddle" underneath the carb when it drips off the carb mouth and onto the the area underneath it. The gas makes its way to the motor leg and out the weephole.

I'd like to keep my motor from polluting the lake, is there a way to fix this??

Stop running with the intake manifold removed.

It is not unusual to have fuel come out of the carb mouth. It is caught in the intake manifold and sucked back into the crankcase. If you are seeing it come out of the weep holes, then the fitting on the engine attached to your intake manifold hose is probably clogged up. The fitting has a very small hole and you need to blow it out with air.

I know where the intake manifold is on a car, but no idea on my outboard.
What area should I be looking in to find this intake hose and fitting?

I'm sorry, I made a mistake and somehow thought that you had 125 Force.

I can only guess at this one. When you pull the cowl off the engine, can you see the carb intake or is there something covering it that you have to take off first?
