Im sorry if this is not the right forum so please alert me if it is mods.

I have a 1975 Renken 17.5 ft boat with a 1982 Chrysler 105HP OB. I have no idea what the boat/motor weighs but the trailer it's on is done and needs to be replaced. If you know what the above boat/motor weighs that would be a big help.

I also have this 15 ft Dixie boat with a great trailer but I don't know if the trailer could handle the Renken. My launch is only about a mile round trip so it doesn't have to go long distance or anything. Please check out the pics below and let me know if the swap will work.

I'm not sure how much that Renken weighs: Start at 1400# plus motor.

First impression from the photos: The one the Dixie is sittin' on might be small for the Dixie. She ain't sitting on the bunks right, and looks like it's hanging off. Add another 2+ feet, with the wheels where they are ... it's gonna' be a catapult waiting to "fling!"

What about restoring/repairing the big trailer?

agree

looks like the blue trailer needs a tongue and winch stand.... if that's the problem and if the previous "repair" work hasn't done too much damage, you can likely fix her up without much trouble.

Metal plates, grinders & welding where the neck meets the A.

I'd agree - just from the looks of them, the trailers don't look swapable to me. Either put some time and money into fixing up the blue one, or keep looking. JMO of course.

Remember, most accidents happen with in a mile of the house, so don't fall back on that excuse for a poor working condition trailer. If someone else is hurt, you still have the pain of living with it.
