ok i just reciently got a 1990 cheetah lsc with the 470 engine(i think)so i go to trouble shoot the fuel issue (boat sat for a year in boatyard)
i took the gas line off of the carburator put fresh gas in and cranked the engine nada nothing at all comming out so i detached the line from the fuel pump to the tank put my finger over the line and cranked the engine i felt nothing absolutly no suction at all.upon dissassembly of the fuel pump the diaphram appeared dry rotted.
bad fuel pump right?rebuilding the carb is my next step but i just wanted a second opinion. also the fuel filter is good.

If the pump is bad replace it with a new marine fuel pump.
No reason to rebuild the carb unless it need it.

Make sure you check the gas in the tank before you hook your engine back up to it. I made that mistake when I put a new crate engine in a boat I had purchased. At the very least try to get the boat tilted up and then remove some of the fuel from the lowest part of the tank. See how much water, (if any), is in there. I would also put on a new fuel/water separator.

Oh yeah, welcome to the forums!
