I need a stator

I called our local shop and they told me my stator would be $375.92
serial number for the engine is OG184736
398-818535A17 is stamped on the original stator.

If anyone can help me find one cheaper i would greatly appreciate it.

I forgot to mention it is a Mercury Tracker.
40hp, 4 cylinder, 2 stroke, with electric start

Go to www.cdielectronics.com. I personally prefer OEM products.

I second CDI but if that is still too much for you, there are used ones on E-bay. I wouldn't buy used myself in MOST circumstances, but you may consider?
