i need a year and info on old sea horse

there is a consignment sale tomorrow and they have a 35 horse jonson sea horse on a 16 foot lund and the package seems pretty nice. I want to know the year of the motor and info on it please. Model # RD-19C and serial number 1788419.

Hold it right there.That engine is not old.It is younger than me.They are very nice very sturdy engines those 1957s.I should know,I own three of them, all running sweet.Be aware that the RD19 is the type that has a pull start and not an elecric start.Although they are easily transformed to electric start.Make sure that you get a pressure tank with it unless it has been changed to a "modern" fuel pump.

That's actually a 1958 engine since it's a RD-19C. 24:1 fuel/oil mix. Cheap and easy to wrench, with many parts still available.
