Hi I have a 1993 75 hp ELPTO Serial # 0D269057 I bought used with no history on the motor. It came with a 131/4" x 17 3 blade prop on it # 992114. The motor is on a 24' Godfrey pontoon approximately 3000 lb. First trip out the motor turned 4,800 and was moving at 17 knots. I have a new Quicksilver tack and a new Gps speedo. So I think the numbers are close to being right.
I used a Prop wizard to get a new one and it told me to get a 14 x 11 so I got it put it on and the boat slowed to 11 knots at 5,700 to 6,000 so that didn't work so good. When I looked the original prop up it is listed under a category for a V 6 motor.
We want to pull the kids on tubes and I would like to go as fast as I can when traveling. Yes I should own a different type boat. But it is what it is.
So I am thinking I want a 131/4 by 15 to pick up the rpm Would a 4 blade do any thing for top end speed ? I think they are more for hole shot pick up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If possible the best for you would be to find a marina or shop that will loan you a few different props. That way you can try them before spending more money on a prop that may not be what you need.
