This is a single cylinder side plug, magnito by united american bosh corp n. The head is stamped c4 and t2. It has a power shaft and a full length exhaust down to bottom end. It has two piece guard over prop. Two blade prop. The bottom end gear box is two stamped pieces bolted together with 7 or 8 bolts. The block part is stamped s1235. It is a very small engine, probably a 1.5 hp. The motor will not turn. Does anyone know what this is and what year it was made and does it have value. Thanks in advancae for the help, I'm new here.

If it doesnt turn, more than likely youd be lucky to get $50-$100 for it on ebay.

That would be a mid 1930s Thor Single 2.4 hp, or possibly a Thor-made Sea King for Montgomery Ward (same motor, different decal). Thor was the predecessor to Mercury. They were not known as the best motors of the day, which ultimately led to Carl Kiekhaefer purchasing the factory, with returned-as-not-running motors. He made a design change to fulfill the order to build up some initial capital, wanting to convert the factory to make milk separators. When the redesigned motors begat more orders, he found himself in the outboard business. The rest, as they say, is history.
