I purchased this gearcase off of ebay. It was listed as for a 150. It does not fit my 150. I have included some pictures. The shaft hub is about 4'. Th over all length of the part that mates to the midsection is about 20 1/4". shaft from mating part of gearcase to top is 22 3/8. I can measure anything else you need. Thanks.

That looks like a late model(80-86) inline unit and only way it will fit is to remove a stud or 2.....

yep....in-line driveshaft splines won't "fully" engage either...

JAN.....All 2.0, 2.4, 2.5 V6 gear cases from '76 up will interchange....

I ground off the preload pin and removed the front stud. everything lines up but the gear shifter. any idea how to mate that part up? And thanks a lot for the replies.

that won't work.... that pin is what keeps tha top drive shaft bearing in place...pressure on tha bearing comes from tha top of tha drive shaft seating in tha crank.....then also its to short (drive shaft) to engage completely in tha crank. ..it will end up stripping tha crank splines...........

when I was sayin' we used 'em tha drive shaft was cut and shortened "below" tha pre-load pin and spring. those have gotta stay intact...
