I need some advice

My brother in law just got me 2 old outboards and I want to know where to start. One is an Elgin model# 571.58751, and the other is a Johnson model# QD-11. I was wondering if anyone here can tell me the years on these motors, and any advice on where to start? BTW, the Elgin turns, but the Johnson is frozen, and that's as far as I had gotten so far. I have poured some marvel mystery oil in the Johnson's cylinders to try and free it as this has worked for me on other frozen engines. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, I would like to get both of these running again. They're too cool looking to just sit there.

Ok, the elgin is a '51 or '52 7.5hp built by West Bend (predecessor to Chrysler Marine). The Johnson is a 1949-50 10hp engine.
QD-11 Parts manual, click here.

I think you're doing all for the Johnson that can be done. If it doesn't free with the MMO, you'll have to remove the head to access pistons to work directly on them. You may want to drop the lower unit to make sure it's the powerhead that's frozen.
