well i am a brand new person to this website and the boating world and i recently got a Larson lapline 18' boat and need some info or websites with info to help me. i THINK it is from '71 and i recently got it for free so it is in a bad shape. i go to a school that offers a marine services program which we learn to fix boats and engines. i am only 15 and my dad is helping me and i am bringing the boat into school Monday hopefully. so basically i need some info and i will list some important things i need:
- min.- max. horsepower engines (it's an outboard)
- weight capacity and person capacity
- somewhere i can possibly buy accessories (seats, canvas or cover, etc.)
the boat, as i said, isn't in a good shape. it doesn't have seats, cover, or a trailer that fits. whatever, im glad to get what i get for free. also if anyone could give me any pointers on things i may want to do to the boat before it goes in the water. please and thanks to all that help

Welcome to iboats and the wondeful world of boating.
First look and see if there is a Coast Guard plate in the boat.
Somewhere around the cockpit area.
It will give you weight and max HP rating for it.
That is if someone has not taken it out.
Did you get a title with the boat?
It should have year model on it.
Look around here at the iboats mega mall. There are all kinds of stuff for boats here.

There should still be a title. You will likely have trouble getting it legally registered without proof of ownership, and I don't think that a Registration document will cut it.

You may some luck going on the Larson website. They have brochures from previous model years that you can look at....

Good Luck!
