I came into a Seahorse model HD 20 . With some tinkering, it now runs great. My research thus far tells me that it was produced in '41 or '42 and is a 2.5 HP. I would like to know what the original color of these motors were. It has a greenish color to it, but really does not look like paint. [perhaps its just worn off ] also any place to purchase parts, I would like to replace the lower gear case seals and water pump impeller. Thanks for any advise. Todd

The HD-20 was the little brother to the TD-15/20 series. Nice little motors. Yes, it was what Johnson called Sea Foam (or Fog) Green. You can get a really good version of the color at effenaco.com . Other parts may be harder to find as they are obsolete in most cases. Seals you can usually find by dimension at a bearing supply shop like Kaman bearing or the like. Bring your old seal with you, or the housing and shaft if the seal is beyond using for a match. I believe someone was reproducing the impeller for those, but I am unsure who. Might want to place an ad on the AOMCI.org site.
