I pulled the plug under the Cobra cover,

Can anyone tell me what might've come loose on the inside , and what I'll have to do to correct it?
It's on a '94 Four Winns 194 Candia with a 5.0 and cobra out drive.

The little cover plate was missing and I thought I was checking fluids, but after some research, and reading "Do not pull this plug" I'm thinking I may have screwed up???....I can't find a drawing with the port side of the lower unit to see what this intails

Are you referring to the decal on the port side of the upper gear housing?
