This dogone merc 165 4 cyl fwc keeps overheating ! I have replaced the impellar, t-stat, antifreeze, flushed out the exchanger (it's clean 5 yr old few hours), flushed out the engine, new plugs, cleaned the carb inside and out, changed the oil, gear oil on the outdrive, she still overheats. could it be the manifolds or risers ? I was thinking of using a ir heat gun to figure out where the problem spot is, will that work ??

Sure that could be the problem.

Your best bet is to pull the riser and inspect the water passages. That will tell you more than a temp gun.

Ayuh,... That's Very likely, unless you've replaced them in the last few years....

Saltwater is Bad on them...
