I should've stayed home.

I have a propane furnace in my boat. Last night I took a few buddies out for a cruise and it was quite nice out so we sat on the bridge. As the sun went down it cooled off quickly so we went into the cabin. I had the seat covers on the seat but they must have slipped off at some point onto the furnace exhaust. So yeah, I turned on the heat and they burned pretty bad... dammit. It gets worse... when I first smelled something burning I ran up to the bridge and did my 'damage control'... no harm done to the boat but a big mess from the charred sunbrella. I cleaned it all up and we talked about it... anyways... when I first smelled the smoke I was pumping out my holding tank and in all the excitement forgot to turn off the macerator. It doesn't work now... I think it heat seized. What a crappy night.

Hey magster, we all have them once in a while.
You didn't burn the boat down and no one got hurt, don't sweat the small stuff.

Yeah, you're right but money has been tight lately and this is probably $400 damage... $400 I don't have... :(

Well, there's a bit of good news today (not about that stuff). The broker at the marina listed another 26 Tolly just like mine yesterday. It's docked only a couple spots away. It's got some similar options but even though I'm biased... easily, mine is a much cleaner and nicer boat. They're asking $5k more for that one... it makes mine look even better.

The only fish I saw looked like dollar sign fish swimming out of my pocket!
More good news though... I fixed the macerator. It appears that the rubber impeller got hot and stuck to the housing. That was easy enough to fix. I load tested it with a bucket and a hose for 20 minutes. Works great again. The estimate I got for the seat covers is $100 less than I was expecting but the guy's really busy... 2 week wait but he does nice work.
Live and learn!
