I sold my boat, :'(

They say the 2 happiest times in your life are when you buy your boat and when you sell it. But I sure ain't happy.
I weighed the pro's and the cons, and d@mn it, the pro's won. The boat is old, and it's small for a family of 5. I'm moving about 750 miles away, and I have no place to put the boat at my new house. I'd have to pay for storage. Rather than incur an additional monthly cost while my finances are insecure, I felt it was best to sell it. I have some savings, and I plan on buying another boat as soon as my income exceeds my monthly bills. So don't mind me while I cry in my beer.:'(

Ouch! My deepest sympathies, but being boatless is not a terminal condition. Although the extra money in your pocket will be nice for a short time, it won't be long till you are looking for a bigger, more expensive and costly to upkeep rig. After all, not only will you have the family, but it will need to be big enough for friends as well! Yep, once it your blood, you will always be throwing money into that hole in the water!

The times that you don't own a boat are called the off-seasons. You will once again be among the ranks of the boat owners. It is a disease that has no cure.

As much as I hate to admit it, a boat is not a necesity and is an expendable Item. I`ve sold several boats because of finacial difficulties. It was even tougher for me because I live at a lake with a veiw and I saw the boats going by every day. When I first moved here I didn`t have a boat for three years. I`ll tell you this though, I really appricated it when I got it.

Ouch! :% But, if the good Lord didn't want you to own a boat, he wouldn't have made water. So just start saving every extra penny and you'll be back out in no time. ( I had to go through that once, and now I've got an even bigger boat. Some things just seem to work out.d:))

A man without his boat is like a Fish with no water (Won't survive very long)
If you are like me you will find a way.
Sold my boat at the end of season last year (1980 sting ray I picked up for 1,000) and now I have a 1988 sea ray seville 18 br in premo condition.
Had it out for a test drive yesterday, did over 45mph with 6 people on board.
Sometimes when things are tight we need to downgrade our toys until we can afford to upgrade at a future time.

Get the Tubes out........It's almost Tubing time

I really dont see any problem here, that is a completely rational reason to dump the old barge and get a new one.........8) GIve it time already you know the need's of your family...... security first then the boat...

And I feel your pain. Had to sell my toys. But my day will come some day, if I live long enough.
