I'm in the middle of a restoration of a 1984 Cimmeron 15.5 ft tri-hull fish/ski combo with an 80 hp Johnson. The stringers are toast, however the transom seems to be solid. I will know more in a few days when I get the top hull half off the bottom hull.

Anyway, I know I am going to be asking a ton of questions about the resto/fiberglass work, etc.

But now that I have caught this restoration "bug" I keep seeing potential projects popping up everywhere.

Today I found a (approx. 19 ft) Screaming Eagle bass boat (1980 ish?) with a complete (minus prop) 150 Johnson. It needs totally restored as well, I couldn't help but wonder how fast it would run fixed up and tuned up (60, 70 mph?).. Yes, I have the owners phone number and I am considering calling tomorrow. I could just imagine how nice the bass boats hull would ride. Of course, Fishing and being on the water is the goal. lol..

I think I am addicted.

Thanks!

Re: I think I am addicted.

Welcome to iboats Dry Dock......

Yes it takes a special breed to restore a boat that isn't worth the cost of the restore, but we do it all the time.

Bass Boats are my speciality. 19 footer with a 150 isn't going to hit 70 MPH but should make 60 okay. Although I'm not familiar with that particular brand, most do have a good ride, mostly due to the speed.....the faster it runs the less boat that is in the water....

Good luck with your Tri-Hull....If I were you I'd take care of that one first so you get an idea of what's involved before you tackle the 19' Bass Boat, as the tri hull will be much easier to do.

Re: I think I am addicted.

I called the owner of the Bass Boat. He is very fond of his boat. He wan't $900.00. I think I will just fix what I have and wait to acquire other projects later. Hopefully I will have a few pics of the Cimmeron build up shortly. I am trying to document everything I can. Me and my boys are having a blast working on this old boat.

I am going to learn everything I can from this build. Then I will build the bass boat of my dreams.

Of course I like to fish in Salt Water/brackish water, I have family in Hudson, FL. I will probably use my trihull some off the coast of Hudson to do some fishing.

I can't wait!!

$900.00 isn't too bad if the outboard runs good, but I certainly understand. There are plenty of used bass boats out there when you're ready.
