Well I got tired of seeing awesome projects that yall make happen. So I lost my mind and bought a 67 holiday 18 OB. It needs everything. I'll post some pics in the morning. I cant even figure how to get the motor off the boat so be prepared for a million idiotic questions.

That's what we do here - Answer idiotic questions. Sorry, Fun, you let yourself open for that one.

If you have a Photobucket account, use that to store your pics and paste the IMG code into the body of your posts. It seems to be the best way right now.

Welcome to the Tinsanity and hope you can get some pics up. In the mean time you can look through some of the Holiday restos here, lots of good info. http://forums.iboats.com/forum/owne...ft-rebuilds-and-restorations-they-re-all-here

Ring? We have a ring?

Most of us join the 'club' with the ring.... The water ring around the INSIDE of the hull from PO neglect. :watermelon:
My membership ring along the starboard gunwale & extending up past the helm under the bow cover:

DON'T use the forum software resident pix attachment/uploader....... Get a free photobucket acct and copy then paste the IMG code for each pix.

Then the pix show up IN your posts rather then as attachments that must be opened. Like this:
fetch

Hey all you have to do in your photobucket is click in the line that says 'IMG' it will copy and then you just have to paste that into the message box here like this...

How did you get the Mercury to be upside down?

There ya go, Fun. :D Yeah a little bit of rot. I see the PO tried to fix it with some ugly steel straps. :(

The motor wrap will fit right side up or upside down.

That's the 2nd upside down merc wrap I've seen in the last 10min. The other was on an ebay ad. No less impressive there..........

Wood mulch makes great worm fodder. Worms are good for fishing. So, as I see it, you're a leg up on the fishing season next year. Free fishing worms, compliments of the mo-tard PO's that neglect these rigs before we get 'em & tear into them....

Perhaps the big steel struts kept the splashwell from getting the dreaded cracks in the corners that regularly occurs w/ a soft transom, or knee brace cracks.

:welcome: Those straps the PO used to reinforce the transom are interesting. I guess at least the PO tried to do something to save the splash well, and knee brace. That's more than most do. Lots of hard work ahead, but the reward is one solid boat, and the satisfaction of saying " I did that.." when someone tells you nice boat when you've finished the resto.. Good luck, and I'll be tagging along..
