Best compression 110psi worst is 100psi. alot better than my 60hp only 90 best and worst was 40psi. I worked today switching it over to the long shaft using all my old motor parts, the worst thing was having to remove the power head to swap the longer water tubes, finally done.
I'm going to swap the carburetor for the one thats on my 60hp now, only snag is the 80hp has a heat stove choke with bi-metal spring and it's missing as you can see ib the photos, my 60hp carburetor has electric solenoid actuated choke control, I'll probably just have to swap out the jets hopefully.
Man did I get lucky or what, even though it is over 40yrs old.
