After a good run on a local channel for giggles i pulled the hood off and stuck my hand on top of the block and the motor was cold to the touch! Im assuming the thermostat is stuck open. Unfortunately its located on the bottom of my motor, two nuts on bottom pan and 4 under it to separate powerhead from what i see, anybody do when on this motor? Any advice? Was planning undo bolts and use cherry picker to lift powerhead off midsection, loosening any connections necessary and replacing any gaskets i run into. Its a j25rce(m?). Rope tiller. Motor was running good on high speed runs, soso on low idle/troll.

marineengine.com diagrams show the thermostat to be in the top center of the head..easy access...give it a look
