I believe there are two versions of the Bravo I outdrive..
How can I tell if I've got a short shaft Bravo vs a long shaft Bravo?

Re: ID: Bravo Drive short shaft vs long shaft

Thanks, Don.
I'm seeing a few units advertised as "short shaft" - and I'm assuming that there is a difference, which may be incorrect.

The Bravo drives are all one shaft length - meaning they only come with one "depth" when measured from the transom?

It looks like there is a Bravo I and a Bravo I "Performance" - dealing with the depth of the water pickup?

What I'm chasing here - one of the prop vendors had me check the distance from the bottom of my V to the center of the prop axis. It came back with something around 12 inches. Vendor said most performance boats have a depth of about 7 inches and this means that I'm dragging a lot of outdrive through the water...

The top of the out drive has been "touched up" - so I'm suspicious of it's overall condition.. It might just have been a high end detailing deal, or it could have been trying to cover a problem.
