ID Eska motor

Eska motor, Could you please help me. I bought a eska boat motor at an estate auction and was trying to ID this motor so i may get carb and other parts for it. It has a Tucumseh motor carb numbers are 7159845 / 643-20B. The Eska tag has model 1928-B serial 3L666209 any info you may have would be greatly appreciated thank you.

That's a 1974 5hp with a twist grip throttle. It has a Tecumseh engine, of the model you named.

Some parts are available at www.discount-marine-parts.com, like carb kits.

Other parts are available from www.certifiedpartscorp.com. You have to call the number on the web site with your model number and engine model number. They can supply copies of manuals, as well.

Its powerhead is air-cooled, but there is an impeller to pump water to cool the exhaust in the midsection.

I'm not sure which ignition system yours has. They varied around that period. If you have an external coil that feeds the spark plug, then it has electronic ignition, for which parts are scarce to impossible. If the spark plug wire emerges from under the flywheel, you're in a little better shape.

I'm not certain of the proper fuel:eek:il ratio on that year's model.
