My son has expressed an interest in restoring an old Evinrude that his grandfather had acquired, but didn't get around to repairing, before he passed. I haven't had a chance to check it myself and my son says the only thing he's found so far that looks like a model/serial number is "F321E". From what I've found on the web, the "F" model numbers started with "F1001" and went up from there. Is he misreading the number? Thanks in advance for any help/input.

Let's assume that the E is most of an 8. That would make it a 1928 6Hp.
