Hi Scott,.... Count the intake bolts to tell Vortec...
Center bolt covers pre-date 'em...

Rochester or Weber carb,..??

Rochester Quadrajet, 12 bolt intake. Can you tell the year by the #s? Says 89 on the side of block casting.

Your serial number belongs to a 1989 MIE RH-INCL-BW-1:1-FWC-4X1 FLANGE 5.7L CARB 260 H.P./5.7L ENGINE.

Look for service manual #15.

It's an 89, and it's the MIE (Inboard) engine, not Mercruiser with an outdrive.
Model # 3572211BS

Hmmmmm.......... Seems it took me too long to look it up.

Hi Don, Yeah it was an inboard but Mercruiser engine and tag #s, Everythingexcept the drive, haha. Thanks

According to Fun Times info, it's a Right hand rotation engine. Standard rotation is LH.

Probably what the R after the SN indicates.

Yes i saw that too. I have stripped it anyway for the parts only. I think it was underwater or outside for a long time. It was free for the taking. total rust inside. the water pump manifolds i think carb can be resurected, The sea water pump is cracked, I was just curious what animal it was, thanks
