Id plate

Can't fine the id plate or any identification on a Yamaha 9.9 4 stroke. any idea how I can id this outboard, I need to find out what year it is. Can post pic if need be. Thanks in advance.

Nobody has any idea where the id plate or model # is on an older Yamaha 9.9 eh? Guess I'll have to go to a more helpful and welcoming forum!
