Hi I have a 40hp seahorse I think late 60's was wondering if anyone can be more persice.
Also were these good motors? Anything special I need to know?

The serial number looked funky, but then I noticed you are in Canada. U.S. Serial numbers are way higher than that. At any rate, yes a RDS-23 is a 1961. OMC's bread and butter at that time. Unless they have already been replaced, it probably has bad coils.
