ID tag unreadable... How else to find year of motor

Got a 35 hp Force ID tag on clamp bracket is printed not stamped, and it is unreadable....

Is there anyway to tell year? We carb having carb issues, Need more info carb the carb than anything.
I have the numbers carb of the carb, if that helps

They were made from 86-91 and again in 96. If it's blue with a US Marine tag on the cylinder head, it's in the 86-91 range. If it's charcoal, it's a 96. The earlier versions all probably use the same carb kit. Sometimes looking at motors sold on eBay helps ID an otherwise difficult motor to ID.

I am positive the powerhead is most deifinitley not blue. It is a US Marine Force motor. Thanks for your help
