Don't believe they had one from the factory at that time. The Hull Identification Number (HIN) I believe was instituted in the early 1970s. Current practice with older boats is to have the state department of watercraft issue a plate (number) that is attached to the boat. Usually a watercraft officer must inspect the boat and papers you have before you get a state HIN.
