Ideas for a home-built hardtop?

Hey guys,

So I am thinking about building a custom hardtop for my 93 Ciera 2655. I wanted to get peoples opinions on some options? Based off the current slope of the glass windshield and the near vertical slope of the plastic windshield, headroom is a concern with the hardtop design. Picture at bottom of post. I need the top to be able to withstand highway speeds for the occasional trailering I do of this boat.

My thought, after thinking for a while, is to remove the glass windshield and canvas top entirely. Design the hardtop and a new wrap around window frame that attaches to said hardtop. Find some Plexiglas and put that in as my windshield. It would definitely be easier to keep the sloped glass windshield but I feel that any hard top I make, the near vertical windows will not hold up to highway speeds - and look a little funky... All comments appreciated...

Ayuh,...... Years back, a guy from NJ, named Mark, had a long thread 'bout his adventure, buildin' a hardtop for his big bayliner, outa foam board, 'n fiberglass,.....

Donno if the search engine is up to the task here at iboats, but maybe somebody else remembers Mark, 'n his hardtop,....
