Ideas how to clean omc thats all dirty and dusty under the hood?

hey everybody just got the motor home johnson 20 hp converting to 35, but its really dirty i would like to clean it but what should i use for a product was thinking maybe dawn dish soap and a tooth brush? i dont know if its safe to get this stuff kinda damp and wet enough to clean it the wipe it off, looks like it was pulled down a dry dirt road with no hood on ,thanks for your ideas

I use Lever 2000 (bar soap) and a tooth brush.
Love the stuff.

I use WD40 to clean a powerhead.

Also inhibits corrosion so am doing 2 jobs at once.

I use a rag, and my air compressor on low psi to clean out the nooks and crannies.

sounds like fun.
you need to just move as much stuff out the way as possible and get a drop of wd 40 on a rag as mentioned above.
once its all completely clean to your liking, then go buy a can of silicone spray, it will protect better than wd40.
the older cans of wd 40 from about 10 years ago were miles better for protecting a surface, now they have dropped the
quality of WD40 to keep the price down.
